I don’t know if people know this about me, but a good portion of my wardrobe is band tees and hoodies. On any given day, you’ll find me in a band tee, jeans and a pair of Chuck Taylors. I scored this amazing Slayer shirt last week while browsing the clearance racks of Hot Topic. I may be in the minority, but I usually prefer to get my band shirts from the shows I attend. However, this was too good to pass up as it was only $6! I paired it with this short and flirty full skirt from ASOS Curve and it has pockets! I LOVE dresses and skirts with pockets so that was a lovely surprise! Because the skirt is made of jersey, it kind of looks like I’m wearing one long t-shirt but they’re two separate pieces.

Yesterday I went to visit some of my old co-workers and went out for dinner and drinks to celebrate the birthday of my roommate Norrell. After what seemed like weeks (but in reality only about 4 days extra), I finally received my clothes from ASOS. A couple weeks ago they had their mid-season sale as well as a 20% off code, so I took advantage and got a few items I’ve had my eye on. At the top of that list was this black maxi dress with shoulder pads.
What I love most about the dress is that its fitted yet it doesn’t cling. It gently floats over your body in the best way possible. The shoulderpads could make this dress a statement piece but I decided to dress it down with this dark denim vest I picked up in a Torrid clearance sale a while back. The vest allows the shoulder detail to be seen yet not be the focal point of the outfit. I, rightfully so, let the focal point of the outfit be my Jeffrey Campbell Clinic wedges. They are too amazing for words! Between the big hair and monster wedges, I loved this whole look.

It was love at first sight when I saw these images from Decadent Designs’ new line of leggings! I love that the images are a bit sassy and feature two confident women who are not afraid to show their bodies. The first batch of leggings feature bold and playful prints such as the Pop Art Floral prints and the Flaming Tigerstripe, both of which are not for wallflowers! If you like your colors bright, your prints loud and crazy, then these leggings are definitely for you! They’re currently in the Decadent Designs store for $40 each and are available in size M-4X.
If these prints aren’t right for you, fear not! More leggings in different colors and fabrics (include lace and lamé!) will be added to the line soon. So if you need to stock up on fun leggings for the summer, keep checking back!
What do you all think of the line? Your style or too much? Let me know!

Recently Jibri released their vintage-inspired Spring 2010 collection to the public. Also, released were these lookbook/editorial images showcasing some additional pieces not previously seen in the collection, including the amazing Wavy Sweetie dress above, which is one of my favorites! Lookbooks are so tremendously helpful in setting a mood and telling the consumer the story behind the collection, so I’m glad that some designers are starting to use them!
This collection is filled with classic Jibri details, including the full, below-the-knee skirts and fun prints, however, there’s new cut-out detailing along the neckline of some dresses. Some of the pieces are already for sale in the Jibri Etsy shop, however some have yet to appear. What do you all think of the collection? Is there any pieces that you like?
ps. Check out Chastity of Garner Style looking amazing in the Wavy Sweetie dress!

I bought this NaKIMuli dress last week from one of my readers Yvette, who was selling it in the Friday Fatshionista sales posts. At first glance, you wouldn’t think this would be my style but its pretty much perfection. The front can be a bit overwhelming because of the shoulders, the gold lame and animal print with a red-to-blue-to-green gradient. Because of that, I kept the rest of everything quite simple with a black draped front vest and ballet flats. It has a bodycon fit that reminds me of something Beth Ditto would be unapologetic about wearing. It shows every lump, bump and curve and I love it!
ps. I’m debuting my new wig! I missed having long hair so I’m excited to have a new look!

Yesterday, Arcadia Group (which include Topshop, Dorothy Perkins, Evans and more) has their press day for the Autumn/Winter 2010-11 collections. I was really excited to see what Evans did for fall because 1) their Spring collection is so good and 2) fall is my favorite season! I saw a few sneak peek images posted on Twitter throughout the day but now that I’ve seen the much larger, clearer images, I am so excited!
One thing that I know I always complain about is the lack of cute, on-trend clothing available for plus sizes. With the past two collections, not only have they jumped to the top of my favorite plus retailers but they’ve managed to successfully walk the fine line of being trend-conscious without being trend-driven. There’s definitely a difference between the two! The funny thing is, there’s very little black in the preview images but yet I was still looking through them going ‘OMG. WANT. NEED. MUST-HAVE!’ There’s everything from shearling, velvet (including a FIERCE pair of over-the-knee red velvet boots that almost made me fall out), a bit of military, boho/tribal and more! Check out the pics below and let me know what you think!
oh and ps. BETH IS BACK AT EVANS! Coming this September, a new collection will be arriving at Evans! Below is a small paragraph about what we can expect!
“Beth’s exciting new collection reflects fashion styles from the decades of the last century. She has spent the past year travelling the World gathering inspiration for this iconic second collection. In true Ditto style, Beth invites you to step into her fashion wardrobe, where unconventional challenges the norm. There’s Victorian mixed with 80s punk, through to 40s vintage with a noughties modern edge, all of which create a range of eclectic hybrid designs.”

I was slightly let down when I heard that Torrid was going to stop carrying Z. Cavaricci as they are the brand behind my favorite pair of jeans. However, while browsing one of my new favorite blogs Chubble Bubble, I came across these images from a new lookbook for Torrid that features blog favorite, Crystal Renn. I don’t love everything but there are two pieces that I’m thinking of adding to my closet — the black moto dress and the grey acidwash studded skinny jeans. Being as though I love the “Jessie” jeans so much, I’m thinking of giving these a go as well. I’m not too sure about how the other items from the line fit, but I’ve always found that in jeans, I’ve had to go up one size. The entire line is on Torrid’s site, which you can view here. What do you guys think? Yay or nay?
