246 / A ROUNDUP OF SWIMWEAR 2010
Memorial Day marks the day that a lot of pools and waterparks open their doors for the Spring/Summer season. Since that day is slowly but surely inching closer and closer, I figured it would be helpful to do a round-up of plus size swimwear options. By no means, are these the only options but they are, in my opinion, some of the cutest. If you know of a store or designer that has cute options and I’ve missed, please post their link in the comments!
First up, we have Evans who has a ton of options from one-piece to bikinis and separates that you can mix and match. The black one-piece below is number one on my list for the summer. With the gold metal rivets and lace detailing, its a combination of Versace and lingerie which in itself, tells me that I need to own this swimsuit. Evans swimsuit sizing comes in standard (for up to C + D cups), full (cup sizes DD + E) and fuller sizes (cup sizes F + G) so there’s something for almost everyone.
Next is Always For Me, which is a company that specializes in swimwear for plus size women. They have a big selection of suits from different designers as well as their house brand. From the looks of it, they go up to size 24W or 26W depending on the brand. I don’t have any experience with the quality and fit of their suits so if anyone else has, please let me know!
Next we have the Monif C Swimwear line which I’ve posted about before. You really can’t go wrong with any of the swimsuits in the line. They are super stylish so whether you’re sitting poolside or doing laps, you’ll look great. Recently, Monif posted a youtube video showcasing the swimsuits on her customers so check it out if you’re interested! Available in sizes 14-24.
Next is By Ro! Designs which I came across when I saw a friend wearing the black monokini pictured below. I love the bold designs of her swimwear and the confidence that the model has in the pictures! All of her designs are offered in sizes 1-6X as well.
Next is Old Navy Women’s Plus. The two bathing suits that I have are both from Old Navy and they’ve held up pretty good over the years so the quality is worth the $30-$40 price tag. They currently have a lot of colorful options that are definitely worth taking a look! Available in sizes 1-4X.
Last but not least, we have Lane Bryant, whose one-piece printed swimsuits are super cute. I don’t have any experience with the Miracle Suit but they seem to be some of their more popular ones. I’m always attracted to the retro halter bathing suits and the black one (pictured below) is looking tempting!
What do you all think? Where do you do your swimwear shopping?
ps. Curvy Girl Chic posted her top swimwear picks, so be sure to check those out as well!
