Day 3 of the YFF Conference started out with a bang as our first event was a photo shoot with PLUS Model Magazine. Now if you haven’t noticed by now, all of my outfit photos are generally the same. I stand and take a picture, very simple. I’m incredibly awkward in front of other people’s cameras so leading up to it, I was a bit nervous. However, when it was my turn, I had a blast. True, I pretty much stuck to what I usually do – just stand there – but I tried to use every bit of knowledge I picked up from watching America’s Next Top Model and smized my heart out. The end result speaks for itself, the photos are ridiculously good. Check out everyone’s photos over at PLUS Model Mag!

It was so fun to wake up and be pampered! As I mentioned before, my makeup routine is pretty simple so I wanted to amp it up a bit this time. I told the makeup artist I wanted to go for goth glam and she knocked it out of the park. We were all so excited so we wore the hair and makeup for the rest of the night.

After the shoot, we went straight to our next event with City Chic. It was held in the bottom lounge at Cafeteria, which has amazing macaroni and cheese. Seriously, I could eat it all day. There was an open bar so we all drank (in my case, a wildberry mojito) and mingled with Lucy, who is the head designer/buyer and Phil who is the President of City Chic. We all got giftbags that had super cute rings (which I excitedly added to my growing collection), necklaces, bracelets, nail polish and lip gloss! After chatting for a bit, Lucy showcased some items from upcoming collections and even had Sakina model some of them. Speaking of modeling, FLUVIA came! I was in awe, she is absolutely stunning.

LOVE MIMMI & PEPPI!

After leaving Cafeteria, we all headed back to the hotel for the livechat! Melinda played moderator and we got to answer some questions from everyone. I hope it was just as fun seeing it as it was for us doing it. I may or may not have snatched my wig off during the chat lol.

After the chat, we all changed and headed over the beautiful Gansevoort Hotel where we danced the night away on the rooftop with the City Chic team, Maddy from PLUS Model Mag and Fluvia! There was an amazing view, the DJ was jamming and the alcohol was flowing. It was such an unforgettable night.

On last day of the conference, we had an event with American Rag, which is a junior plus size brand sold exclusively at Macy’s. They treated us to lunch out on their terrace which had the best view of the Empire State Building. We got a chance to see pieces that will soon be hitting the floors of Macy’s this fall and talk with the people behind the line. Sheridan Watson, who was the winner of Tyra’s Fiercely Real Model Contest, was on hand to also chat with us and model some looks. Afterward, we were given giftcards and freedom check out and try on some looks from the line!

All in all, the entire weekend was an amazing experience and I know I use that word often but it truly was. It was basically like a fat girl summer camp, we got to trawl through the boroughs of New York and have a blast. So a huge thanks to all our sponsors for making it all happen – Evans, We Love Colors, Faith21, SimplyBe, Macy’s – American Rag, City Chic, ModCloth, and Boutique Larrieux. Also, super shouts to Gabi for putting it all together, great job girl!
