Since yesterday would’ve been Michael Jackson’s 52nd birthday, I decided to don a menswear-inspired look. One of my favorite videos is ‘Smooth Criminal’ so I infused a bit of MJ-style into the outfit. Let me tell you, it takes a ridiculously special occasion to get me to wear a button-up shirt, let alone a tie, however I felt that it was appropriate.

This pencil skirt was one of my first purchases from Evans. Its one of my favorite skirts ever because it has an exposed zipper running down the entire back of the skirt (see here). That detail and the faux leather vest, also from Evans, keeps this from looking too corporate/stuffy/boring. I will not be wearing this again anytime soon but it was fun to dress up for the day!
