When I initially went through to select my top eight shows of the s/s11 season, Jil Sander was not included. While I always look forward to what Raf Simons does, upon first glance this collection seemed to be too much. However, months later I find myself constantly referring to it when putting together outfits and Springtime wishlists. While I’ll never wear all of the colors in the collection, I’m slowly warming up to the idea of incorporating small pops of bright colors into my wardrobe for Spring in the form of accessories (namely these Fendi sunglasses) and sheer shirts. I’ve been scouring eBay as well as my local thrift store to get my hands on a few for very little money.

Besides the robust color palette, the sheer volume of some of the dresses and skirts have definitely caught my attention. I’m all about playing with shapes, volume and proportion so I’m definitely thinking of how to incorporate that into my style. Lastly, I love love love the contrast between a simple white t-shirt with that of a more formal gown length skirt, which I also have been on the hunt for lately. Funny that I ignored this collection and now I realize that everything I’m looking to do with my Spring wardrobe was featured in it. So basically Raf is a genius.
