347 / OOTD: BLACK & CAMEL

Sometimes I like to experiment when getting dressed. Having watched The September Issue and loving the texture editorial they shot, I decided to try and figure out a way to incorporate some of that into an outfit. I also had to find a way to wear the peg leg trousers from ASOS Curve because they’ve just been sitting there unworn since I ordered them over a month ago. So two birds, one stone and for only the third time ever (I think), I’m posting an outfit featuring pants.

The sweater I got from Evans forever ago and the faux fur stole is from Torrid. It was a last minute addition after i looked in the mirror and thought a black and beige/tan/camel outfit was so boring so I threw it on and ended up liking the way it looked when tied around my waist. So I guess it looks more like a furry fannypack which is a-ok in my book.

341 / OOTD: GAWTH MORMON SWAG

This outfit consists of three wardrobe favorites that I wear quite often on their own. After becoming frustrated with trying to find something to wear, I just threw these on together with no idea how they’d look together. Because the skirt is so full and the shirt is quite oversized, I wasn’t sure if it would work. However, once I had a quick glance in the mirror, I actually really liked the outcome. I look like a gawth mormon with her swag on a hundred thousand trillion (© kanye) and I’m okay with that.

335 / OOTD: WE ARE YOUNG AND LOADED

So remember when I mentioned that I had a terrible cough a while back? Yeah, it turned out to be the flu (side note: super shout out to Rachel from Fennimas Jewelry for helping to nurse me back to health. I was a sweaty, shivering mess in her living room lol). I’m much better now and am left with just a runny nose but I still don’t quite feel 100% myself. In order to help me feel better I decided to play around with some clothes that don’t get enough love in wardrobe. I’m wearing this super sassy fringed Monif C. bathing suit from her 2010 Swim collection over top of a lace shirt that I snagged from Target a while ago. I never got a chance to go wear it out in the Summer so I figured I could simply layer it over something else and wear it as a bodysuit now that it’s colder. I paired it with my favorite high-waisted pencil skirt that I thrifted and these ankle booties that FINALLY arrived from ASOS after five weeks.

330 / NOVEMBER’S WISHLIST

November is one of my favorite months because the amount of sales that take place is ridiculous. In preparation for the holidays, you’re sure to snag some amazing deals on pretty much any and everything. The wedged sneakers are at the top of my list. I came across a different pair last week but sadly they didn’t have my size. I’m determined to add these to my collection, they can be my new sensible (but still badass) wedge.

Below is part one of my November shopping list!

ps. Don’t forget to enter the giveaway for 2 VIP tickets to the Re/Dress INDIE+ runway show! It ends this Wednesday at midnight EST. Good luck!

322 / OOTD: RED LIPS & BRA STRAPS

I have always been a big fan of the underwear as outerwear look. The moment I saw strappy mesh teddy at Torrid (now sold out) a few months ago, I knew I had to have it. Unfortunately, the fit was really weird so I cut it apart, threw away the bottom and kept the bra portion of it. I usually wear it like I did today over my lace bodysuit that I got from Evans to add more texture. Playing with texture is one of the ways I try to keep my all-black outfits from being boring. I’ve worn this Jibri skirt many, many times here on the blog and that’s because it’s one of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe. I paired it with my trusty Beth Ditto for Evans biker jacket that is another wardrobe staple.

Also as stated before, I know absolutely nothing about makeup. However after reading one of my favorite beauty blogs, Accidental Beauty, I decided to try this NYX lipgloss in Maroon. It’s always hard to find the perfect shade of red and I was/still am a bit unsure as I tend to prefer darker colors but my Tumblr family voted it as a yay and I trust their judgment lol.

321 / OOTD: BLACK VEILS

Because I work for myself, its sometimes hard to find occasions to dress up when I’m usually doing mundane things everyday like running errands and uh, tweeting. However, you don’t always need a reason to break out your highest heels and dramatic makeup. This outfit isn’t what I’d consider over-the-top but I do love wearing black lips to the post office or the grocery store during the day.

I decided I would try to build an outfit around these black mary-janes that I got from Forever21 since I have yet to wear them. In my mind, they lend themselves to more cute-sy outfits and I own nothing of that sort so I dug out this hat I got from Torrid forever ago and paired them with my black silk kaftan. My biker jacket from Evans completes this girly-yet edgy-funeral-chic thing that’s going on here. There was no real idea or direction for this outfit and sometimes that’s the best direction to go in. Let it flow and such.

320 / OCTOBER’S WISHLIST

Although October is halfway over, I couldn’t pass up a chance to put together most of the items that I have my eye on. One of hardest things for me to resist every Fall is the influx of cute jackets and coats. Every year, without a doubt, I purchase at least 3 or 4 new ones (just last night, I bough the cutest leather cape!).

For the first time, I’m on the hunt for the perfect pair of trousers! It’s well-known that I’m not much of a pants-wearer. I own them but they hardly get much wear these days, however I did re-discover a pair of gray treggings from Evans that I’m love with again. Besides that, here are some of the things I need in my closet!

318 / OOTD: SHEER LUXURY

For the last two days or so, the weather has been pretty terrible. Weather be damned because I needed to wear this sheer button-up shirt that I scored on ebay last week for $5. I threw it on with my bandage miniskirt from Evans, Jeffrey Campbell Clinic wedges and randomly threw on this faux fur stole from Torrid. It totally looks like I forgot to put on pants and I’m digging it. I never miss a chance to show off my legs. Ever.

312 / OOTD: COOL IT NOW

After about ten days of rain, the weather is finally nice and chilly! We had a brief bit of Fall-like weather but unfortunately that was followed by multiple 90 degree days. Now that Fall weather is really, truly here, I wanted to wear this jumpsuit I bought from Evans last week. In typical Christina behavior, I never really understood the love for harem pants but now that they’ve been done and are on their way out of fashion, I love them. I have been searching for the perfect slouchy pair and I’m pretty sure this jumpsuit is it. I bought it a few sizes too big so that I would get the amount of drape that I want. Because it has an elastic waistband, I can wear it as low or high as I want, in today’s case the band is around the lowest part of my hip.

One of the main reasons that I have been needing a pair of harem pants is because I had this idea that they would be PERFECT when worn with some knee high/over-the-knee boots. Going from the super draped thigh area down to the slim fit of the boots, this would be a new silhouette for me and I wanted to see how it looked. I’m happy with the way it turned out and I’ll be experimenting with these proportions a lot more this Fall, for sure.

Also, can we talk about these boots for a second? They are gorgeous glittery masterpieces. I couldn’t get a shot to accurately show the glitter but they sparkle! I admit, I wish the heel was higher as I’m not too fond of mid-heels but other that, they’re almost perfect. The other downfall is that they don’t have an elastic panel in the calf area so if your calves are larger than 19 inches or so, these probably won’t fit. I now have four pairs of over-the-knee boots and these are a close second to the Torrid Amanda Thigh-Highs that I posted yesterday.
